Tuesdays With Morrie

I think the ending of the book was a good one. Even though Morrie has passed away, it still ends on a hopeful note, in which Mitch has gained from his professor’s teachings and has reconciled with his brother. He is now able to reflect and re-prioritise what he really wants in life. I liked that the ending matches the title of the book. When Mitch remembered his professor’s words by his grave, “When I’m dead, you talk and I’ll listen”, he started talking to Morrie’s grave naturally, and that day was coincidentally a Tuesday, where they would normally meet up if Morrie had still been alive.

I think that ending brought across Morrie’s message very well, that death should not be feared, even though you are gone, you still live on in the hearts of the people you have touched and nurtured. Morrie will forever live on in Mitch and his family ( " the teaching goes on" ). And through this book, Morrie is also able to live on in the hearts of every person who has read and been touched by it as well.
